The Albins gears are made from a proprietary grade steel billet that is then cut and heat treated to exacting standards then cross-checked via a robotic CMM machine that analyses any discrepancies brought about by heat treatment. This process is part of Albins ISO 9001/2000 quality assurance and can be done prior to the final anti-fatigue shot-peening process which is another point of difference we love about this product. Fatigue life can be extended on certain components by up to 8 times that of a non-treated component and when we are talking gears, this is a major plus with the Albins product and results in less pitting and wear. Ratios work great for both street and track and pricing is extremely competitive for a product that has come out of a factory that makes product for factory rally teams, Dakar rally podium finishers, Baja 1000 winners and top level touring car teams across the globe.
We have tested the synchro set undergoing both street and track testing for over a year now in the 800-950whp range with zero failures, and has run 9.4 sec in the 1/4 mile at 164+ mph during testing. How do these compare to the Mfactory (other than the issue with the syncro replacement being much easier)?
I have basically a new Type R trans in my R right now and it's never shifted correctly. I can't power shift at all in the car because it won't even go into gear at high rpms on full boost, and even road racing I need to pause slightly in between shifts for it to be smooth.

We are convinced that the Albins product is the best on the market right now. For your application the 1-4 Synchro set sounds like it would be the best choice. What clutch are you running? Sometimes that will have an effect on how the transmission shifts as well. Another common issue with the OEM transmission is the Shift Change Holder, we offer an upgraded version of that as well.

Albins has design drawings for both synchro and dog sets for the H, but they were done years ago and they want to re-engineer the kit to use the current design layout like the B sets.
This would require a substanial allocation of design time, and thus would require an order of at least 5 sets of either kit to kick things off again.
Yes, they have made 3.50:1 fd in the past for the H and can do custom ratios on request.

As fifth is 1 to 1, I really like the close cogs. 1st is 3:1, so its longer than the OEM 3.3, so I would just need to sit down with a gear calculator to figure it out (Would make the first a bit longer even still which i think would help the heavy car out the hole).
If you could PM me a ballpark for a 1 off, that would be cool. Ill most prob just keep the set I have now, it held together on the dyno after a number of 700-750 pulls, and a very hard session on the street... But I really wasnt to beat the car at the track next year. I think the gearset will be ok, but with 26" slicks the FD wont :O)
