Whats this white thing? i got a new dizzy that was allready ready for my msd extrnel coil but it didnt have anything to add that lil white thing betwin the dizzy and the coil. Is it needed? What the heck is it there for?
Its obvious its a resistor. I googled it, and there were tons of results for that part number.

as for what its doing in your msd setup, im not sure. Its hard to tell how its hooked up, but what it does is reduce current/voltage and convert it to heat energy where it dissipates from its casing. It is apparently specifically for automotive ignition systems though.

It's a ballast resistor. It may help a car start up quicker by increasing voltage during cranking, but it may also reduce or limit voltage while operating as it is intending to reduce premature wear on ignition parts.
