Default Ferrea roller vs Web extended pads

Im looking to get feedback from people who are running, or have ran, either or both set ups. Is there an advantage of one over the other? Is either better suited for a specific application, ie, roller for FI and the Web extended followers for NA? For those who have used both, which did you find to be the better combination for your set up?

I know Web has a ton of cam options and with keeping the factory geometry, you can pretty much go anywhere for custom grinds. Thats definitely an advantage.

Is there a company other than Crane doing development or even offering custom grinds for the roller set up? Has there been any new grinds from Crane in the last 5+ years?

My take is that the roller set up would be more efficient and might carry a bit more potential but the lack of development and custom grinds might make the web combination more appealing.

Id like to hear what you guys have to say.

Just be careful with the ferrea rockers, because if you manage to break them ferrea will just laugh at you and give you instructions on how to adjust valves properly.

The key with the roller stuff IMO is spring pressure. 95 percent of the people wont make sure the spring pressures are where they need to be. Yes with a Roller setup you can run way faster valves speeds, which then take more spring pressure that can end up robbing HP. Very tricky subject.

Im not saying it doesnt work, because my self have seen some setups do very well with them. But at the end of the day if you can't source what fits your car best well then...yea I dont know..

With the Web stuff having 1 lobe per valve you are able to run lighter spring pressures and the weight difference it self helps. One company may like roller stuff more then the other. Its not that one is better then the other its just what better fits you.

I can tell you Web is all about radius rockers for the reason of spring pressures. But then again having 2000 profiles in the shop makes life easier for them...
