Code 9
I've seen it years ago. Turned out I had broken the white wire on one of the plugs that goes from car wiring harness to the distributor while trying to seperate two stuck plugs. I had to do some quick and fast soldering or I was facing replacing all or some of the my Honda's wiring harness. If your wires are undammaged and firmly plugged in, suspect your distributor. If it is a cheaply-priced, aftermarket distributor, suspect it even stronger.
You're actually lucky. Your code points to a very specific magnet in the distributor that has only one job to do; identify the first cylider in the firing order over and over and over. Repair that (rare) or replace the distributor (common) and the Code 9, the engine miss are gone. The fun codes are ones like 43, which could point to any of a number of different parts.
