Problem accelerating....sometimes
I have a 94 accord sedan lx, I'm having a problem when I yield or slow down and start to accelerate my car hesitates to accelerate. Has anyone encoutered a problem like this before if so let me know what you did to fix this or maybe you have some pointers...Thanks
I take it this an auto?
edit: basically you are short on power once the revs dropa bit? new air filter? replace tranny fluid? tune-up? how well do you maintain your car?

This could be about 2,384 different things.
What kind of shape is your iginition in? That will cause a definite hesistation in acceleration.

actually I just counted and it's more like 1,792.5 (there are numberous half problems) possible problems. Aren't you exaggerating a little Nick?
I don't have any problems with the ignition as far as I can see..I thought maybe it could be the injectors "to dirty" I'm not sure, maybe not getting enough fuel some where..its been this way since i bought the car back in 97..

Your car has been this way for 5 years? Are you sure its just not the torque converter doing its job when the rpms jump?
Have you driven another auto accord? Maybe its all in your head.
Ohh the experience you are having is called "Slow Accord Syndrome"
This commonly caused by one having a stock F series motor attached to extremely tall geared automatic transmission.
Common cures involve either a turbocharger or an H series motor or a combonation of the two.
Seriously though. Our car's are slow. Auto's typically bog a lot. Try some injector cleaner. What octane gas do you run? How many miles you got on it?
edit: hestiates how? no response from the pedal? slight repsonse but motor bogs? try and elaborate a bit...

I'm no mechanic, but I try to maintain the car to the best of my ability...oil,,filter changes every 3000.. check all the fluids.. I mean everything I can think about and more ...I friends who are mechanics..you know.they look at my car and tell me if anything is wrong..
Best bet... find someone with the same or similar accord. Drive each others and compare. When its comes to that.. its hard to say whether there's a problem or not.
