2003 Honda CR-V EX RPM's keep going up

I just bought a used Honda CR-V EX a couple weeks ago and the other day I noticed as I was sitting in a parking lot in Park my idle kept going up & then down the highest it was going was 2000 then it would drop down to 1000 & so on. Now this morning I was driving down my street which is a speed limit of 25 I didn't even have my foot on gas pedal and it started doing it again just coming down the street. Anyone have any idea what could this be?

Not sure what that could be, but I have a similar problem. I recently had to get a new (used) engine installed in my CRV EX 2002 and had the same problem driving out of the shop and every day since (for the last 1 1/2 weeks)...both the RPM as well as the Speedometer gauges flicker up and down whilst driving (at any speed) as well as when its in park; It does not happen all the time but at least once or more every day, pretty much. I am also getting a P0420 DTC code and idling seems to be alittle rough. With the old engine, i did not have this problem.
