I dont know why I keep seeing the prices fall on the Integra Type R's.
Just 2-3 years ago, you couldn't buy one for under 14/15k.
Now, they are falling close to the low teens and towards the 10k mark.
Examples:
Future50's ITR w/ 20k miles on it for 16k - you couldn't buy an itr w/ that mileage for less than $20,000.
That other white 98 for $9500 on here w/ 65k miles - WTF!
Raise your prices and keep them!

I can understand why you paid that amount. $8300 was a fair price for that car. Had it of been 100% stock, you'd have paid several K more.
No offense, but after seeing your thread:

Future50's ITR has a ton of mods done to it.
ITR's that tend to go for top dollar are ones with low owner counts, 100% stock, '97 R's (rare), well documented service history, no exposure to the elements, garaged, etc.
There has always been a large difference between undocumented R's with heavy mods vs. low mileage, single owner, well maintained R's.
A collector, or enthusiast is not going to buy a modified R regardless of the price.
If Future50's ITR was a 97, and bone stock with 20k miles, he would have no issue getting ~17-18k.
98's are less sought after, the mods take a lot of potential buyers out, etc. If he is patient he will find the right buyer, at 16k I think it's a good price and will sell.

this thread is stupid. the prices need to come down on these 10 year old cars.
i purchased my old 2000 3 years ago with 70k miles for $11500. People are asking 5k more for the same condition car. **** is unreal.

I'd like to have a mint low mileage E30 M3, but I don't go around saying how "**** is unreal" that nice ones are still commanding a premium.
Why, just so you can buy them cheap? There are plenty of salvaged titled, wrecked and riced out ITRs out there probably within your budget.

trust me, i dont need, nor want a ricer itr or one with a salvaged title.
the pricing is stupid for these cars as is with the whole jdm parts bullshit. the OP is looking to keep prices up so he could make money. look at the stuff he sells.
im not talking about nice ones. im talking about cars with 70k + miles going for $15k+. why dont you re-read my statement again.

Paid 15k (bought with 643xx miles, now close to 64900) for my bone stock 97 (minus AEM cai, but previous had the stock air filter so we can return to 100% stock if we wanted). i dont think i got "ripped". clean title, super clean engine bay, OEM paint with mini rock chips included, even stock interior with the gay leatherwrapped shift **** (that i have since taken out and replaced with JDM boot and titanium shift ****). i dont intend on reselling, so its not a big deal for me if i put miles on it
we R owners dont buy them to make profit in the future, so your argument about keeping prices up is invalid.
A lot of the people buying ITRs right now are the 10th graders that wanted them so bad 5-10 years ago. And now they have the money to buy them and the time to work on them.
And your original statement wasn't all that clear, FWIW.

dont try and discredit me and say im not one. i was one, car got stolen.
you dont speak for the entire ITR community nor owners. people buy cars and try and flip them in the US. hence the whole JDM importation of these cars; buying them for $4-6k and selling them for $12-15k. If you look in the UK and Europe, you will see that ITRs go for between $4.5k-8k depending on condition, mileage, and mods. Only in the US are the prices for used hondas are sky high.
When I graduate, I will be looking for another ITR. I hope to find a 97 or a CDN 01, and I know I will pay a decent price for one. However, I will not be spending $15k on this type of car, simply because I can not justify it.
i didnt read all of the responses because im kind of in a hurry but from a sellers standpoint, it is very hard to sell a cw itr that only books at a max of 9 grand for 14grand because alot of people dont have the best of credit anymore. that and /or they are now strapped for cash. alot of cars nowadays are selling for book or close to list price . the days of getting a 15k loan on a car only worth 12 even with a 750fico are long gone.
i cant speak for the rest of the country but at least here locally thats how the market is.

Because 70K miles isn't all that much, especially for a car that's 10+ years old. And Honda has shown us that they'll never build a car like the DC2R again, so why wouldn't prices remain the same or start climbing? It's a rare car with an extremely huge following.

I wanted a ITR ever since I was 15 when it came out in '97 and I saw it at the NY Internation Auto Show. I was able to purchase one 10 years later for the nice price of $11.5k.
I think only low mileage like <40k miles should have a price of around $15k. Cars with 70k+ miles are your everyday run of the mill ITRs. Nothing special.

The markets aren't even comparable.
And yes, a 70K mile all-original ITR is now a rare find.
i just bought a galant VR4 number 6?? out of 1000 for 1992, for $1800 running ok no mods... could this be the fate of the type-r in another 8 years, maybe 3k-6k that will be sad i will be pissed.. we should post of fake for sale ads for no less then 14k lets bring that value back up !!
Prices are low in europe because the DC2R is not necessarily 'unique' there, like it is in the US. They've had CTR's for years now, Accord Type R's, along with a whole host of European-only pocket-rocket hatches (http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...s-1730197.html)

also by selling an ITR for $15k-20k, you are in NSX territory. I rather pick up an NSX than an ITR.
