When i'm in neutral - not braking - I can hear the pads rubbing on the rotors wtf?
Hey guys - when i'm driving by a wall or something that amplifies the sound of my car (engine, brakes etc) - and i'm not even in gear or braking, it sounds like my pads are ever-so slightly rubbing the rotors - kind of like a hissing sound, medium pitched.
My pads are fine - not worn down, but I KNOW my rotors are warped (bad shaking under braking) due to the car not being driven for a year and the sudden change of driver styles.
Anyone have any insight on this?

on most cars, the pads will rub on the rotors when not braking.
but if they are rubbing too much, maybe that's why the rotors are warped.

Sounds like the wear indicator on the pad is scraping the rotor. If the pad is very worn, this can happen even when not on the brakes. Check your pads.

If your pads are cool and it's not the indicator from the pads, it's gotta be time to change out them rotors; u said they were warp anyways--take care of that and see how they go because mine was doing the same thing w/ messed up rotors (they were very thin--cannot resurface) and now it's gone.
pull the calipers off and make sure they slide freely back and forth, sometimes the grease can dry up and they will bind.
