Default NEW Fuel pump buzzing noise inside the car?

i replaced the fuel pump in my car to a brand new one of the same matching quailty and model.
my gas mileage is doing terrible here are the symptoms

1.sometimes** i will have a lead foot and the rmps will go above 3k
2.the new fuel pump makes the buzzing noise (my girlfriend described it: sort of like a bee buzzing)
does anyone have any idea why my car is eating up soooo much gas ?

i have a 94 civic ex coupe
10 gal tank

i had to replace the head gasket and water pump because of over heating

thanks for anything !

fuel pumps do that, be happy its stock and not a walbro as they are super loud. have you done a recent tune up? if not it might be about time if your getting that horrible of fuel milage.

Which one did you put in there? Because it really shouldn't be that loud. it almost seems like you either connected it wrong, or one of the circuits that controls it is blown, pushing the fuel pressure up through the roof. I have a walbro 255lph and its not even that loud (if the radio is off you can hear it if you listen for it and the car is at low RPM). But for it to be buzzing loudly makes it sound like its running at max speed. Which would be the reason for all your problems. I suggest that you get a volt ohm (multimeter) and test the voltage at the pump when the car is running. The voltage should vary depending on how much throttle it has. If its at 14V at idle then that is your problem.

the type of fuel pump is "master parts division E8338H " i bought it on ebay and it said is compatable with my make and model is this a good model for my civic?
and yes thats exacly what happens to mine at a low RPM with the radio down you can hear it
does that mean its dumping too much fuel into the cylnders?

You may have purchased a bum fuel pump or the wrong one for your car. Did you also replace the fuel filter?

As mentioned, also do an ignition system tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition timing) to solve the low gas mileage issue.

Ideally pick up a used OEM fuel pump, i've literally never seen one go bad.

yea ive never even heard of that brand. its probably a chinese fuel pump, which those tend to suck. I had a TRE 255 LPH that died on me in less than a year. And the TRE ones are some of the better Chinese ones. Some of them are just complete fail, and the one you got might be one of those.
