iac valve question
anyone ever try to blow thru your iac valve? from what I understand, it should be open when the engine is cold. I unbolted it but left everything else connected. I turn on the key, it is getting power. I took a piece of vacuum hose and pressed it hard against one passage and blow on it, it is closed. at the same time I can hear a whining noise coming from the valve that goes away when I unplug the electrical connector. the valve is either not opening, or totally plugged but I did clean it out and did not get much dirt at all. wondering if this could cause my no start(plugs getting fouled) condition. I am thinking yes.
Unbolting the IACV from the IM or TB would create an intake air leak and high idle. The ECU would attempt to respond to this situation by closing the IACV, so I don't believe that your test reveals a problem.

To avoid confusion, provide precise details. Why would you expect the IACV to be open in this situation?
More important, look elsewhere to solve your problem. For example, do you have spark and fuel? Any CEL codes?
