Default 195-50-15 on Integra Coupe?

Just wondering how much of a difference this would be over stock. I know the recommended tire sizes are 195-55-15 or 205-50-15, but would 195-50-15 be okay? They are for the following:

Year: 1999
Make: Acura
Model: Integra
Body Style: Coupe

The only reason why I ask is because the price difference is not as dramatic at this size for the Dunlop Drizza DZ101 and the Yokohoma S-Drives.

I would not recommend getting the undersized 195/50-15. I mean, it's not going to hurt anything, but it's going to throw off the accuracy of your speedometer and odometer, it's going to make your car ride slightly lower, and the undersized tires are going to look slightly odd.

Here are current prices for both tires in all three sizes. The prices below are before rebate. You can get a $20 rebate from Dunlop on the DZ101 from any Dunlop dealer (click here) through December 4. Discount Tire Direct is showing a $40 rebate on the S.drive October 17-30 (click here) but this rebate is NOT showing on the Tire Rack website, so it's possible it's limited to purchases from DTD only.

Dunlop Direzza DZ101:
195/55-15 $77/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $75/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack
205/50-15 $67/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $66/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack
195/50-15 $68/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $66/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack

Yokohama S.drive:
195/55-15 $80/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $73/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack
205/50-15 $88/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $77/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack
195/50-15 $74/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, $67/tire plus shipping from Tire Rack

Shipping generally runs $15-20/tire, so you can see for yourself where you'll get the better price for the tire you want.

If I were you, I would get the S.drive in 195/55 for $70/tire after rebate. But if you're really pinched for funds, I'd go for the DZ101 in 205/50 for $62/tire after rebate, rather than the S.drive in the undersized 195/50 for $64/tire after rebate. IOW I think you're better off getting the worse-performing tire in the correct size than getting the better-performing tire in the wrong size.

HTH.

I did some editing of my post above to get accurate info on prices and rebates from both sites, so make sure you're using the version as revised.
