Default Balance belt tensioner Removal

Can I removed the balance belt tensioner on a h22a engine and just leave the stud bare and will the timing belt pulley work without problem or is it likely to come loose??

Thanks

What ive done is removed the balance belts and both the pulleys from the end of the balance shafts to gain clearance for an h2b eg swap. And I have removed the pulley that tensions the balance belt.
So the bolt that holds the timing belt tensioner has a little nut on it and then its a bare shaft. doesnt look like the timing belt tensioner will come loose but I just wanted to confirm/See if anyone else had done it like that.
