So i did a valve lash adjustment on my d16a6, but i have never done one and i dont know what exatcly it sounds like after. The thing is i dont how the a6 sounds at regular idle. its always sounded like a ticking sound but how loud or quiet i dont know. after the adjustment it sounds like a louder ticking any advice i adjust to .009 intake and .011 exhaust

 

After a valve adjustment there should be no ticking. I don't know off the top of my head what factory specs are but if it is .009 intake and .011 exhaust, I say go back and do it a second time just to make sure.

 

Sometimes a noisy injector can sound like a tick.
