Default block issue??

I have a 1993 accord 2.2L, the car recently overheated and after removing the head to check it and replace a leaking HG, I found a small what looks like a crack between the 2 pistons on the Left side. Does this mean the engine is smoked? Or could the head be reinstalled and ran?

If need I can supply pictures of the block and crack

if your block is cracked? Unless the crack is shallow enough to be removed by decking the block at a machine shop it's toasted.

The crack is mostly likely why the head gasket failed. Do you have the old gasket and if so does it show evidence of failing where the crack is? If so, you know why the head gasket failed. Pictures are always best.

The crack is in the sleeve between the pistons, inside the water jacket, yes failure was where the crack is. I never really have dealt with honda engines, however trying to help a friend out. I will get a photo posted once I figure it out

A sleeve job would save the block
You would have a very dependable engine for boost or turbo up to 1200hp. Our sleeves are not like any others.
The sleeve design here is bullet proof and perfect for drag racers who are serious about winning. We have been operating this shop since 1978 and do the math. We have experience in engine building. Numerous records are held by us in FWD division race series around the world. We even have a engine on display at the NHRA history museum in Pomona, California. Ed Bergenholtz car has been donated to the museum along with our motor in a display that depicts Ed's garage where most of his record holding cars have been built.
