Default replacing 91 dx hatch brake line

My rear brake line was apparently being held together by an alligator clamp, thanks to the previous owner. I hadn't realized this til i hit a pot hole and it came unclamped... Then my brakes didn't work lol. My question here is what exactly is that line called? I've checked with autozone, napa, advance auto parts, etc. and each time it's called something different from hose, line, to cable with varying prices from $14-45. They're drums if that makes a difference. I can post a pic if that'll help.

Sorry that the pic is so ginormous haha
