i have a problem with my hatch. sometimes it starts and then other times it just cranks.and then right now all it does is crank. it doesnt start. it just starts when it feels like. Is there anything in particular i should be looking for??? thanxx.

 

Fuel, spark, compression. See witch one is weak and go from there. It really could be a number of things with what you described.

 

main fuel relay would be the first thing you should check. very common for them to act up when the solder points lose connectivity. when you turn the key to the run position you should see the check engine light come on and hear the fuel pump prime. after 2 seconds the pump should stop and light should go out. if this doesn't happen, the relay needs resoldered or replaced.

if not the above, then check spark and compression. also, are their any codes?

 

yep main realy is probably the most likely cause with those symptoms sounds like thats the problemo. When mine went out it would do the exact same thing and then when it finaly called it quits I would turn the key to 2nd click no prime and check engine would stay on even tho i wasnt throwing any codes.
You can buy a new one or search on how to resolder the connections your self. Thats what i did and havent had problems since.

 

okay i checked it out. and my check engine light comes on then goes away after a couple seconds and my oil light also goes away when i crank it like after 1 sec.
i think its gonna be an electrical problem somewhere but idk where. how do i checkout the relays to see if they work.
