HOW does the vtec oil pressure switch bypass work?

Default HOW does the vtec oil pressure switch bypass work?

I've read many times that in order to bypass vtec oil pressure switch (installing JDM D15B into OBD2B 99 Civic) one connects the input wire (blue/black) to the vtec solenoid wire.

My question is HOW does this trick the ECU into thinking there is sufficient oil pressure? My 'guess':

- the ECU looks for 12V at the vtec pressure switch pin in order to 'allow' it to engage vtec, so when you connect the VTPS wire to the VTS wire, the 12V sent to the solenoid is also sent through the VTPS wire to the ECU. The issue with this theory is, wouldn't the ECU NOT send 12V to the VTS unless it got the go ahead from the VTPS?

So does anybody actually know the sequence of events that makes this trick work?

the ECU needs ground at the pin prior to allowing the VTEC routine.
the ECU needs to see a transition from ground at some time or it will assume that the input is shorted to ground.

the above question: with a chipped ECU you can disable this routine.

I just but a Jdm b18b into a black2001 USDM black leather GSR b18c1...


The ecu is a gsr 2001 OBD2b p72 and at first trow many code....

code 1337 cuz jdm dont have crank angle sensor...But I read other forum it told me how to bypass this sensor so it dont trow cel code 1337 anymore

I had no IAT cuz its a jdm engine I used a ebay resistor chip and shut down the code...

Now the only code left is vtec malfunction code 1259...
I can rev 8200rpm the first 5 sec that the car just started....
After that I hit a fuel cut off at 4800 rpm and the car bug like hell...


SO THE REAL QUESTION HERE IS THERE A WAY TO BYPASS THIS CODE 1259 VTEC MALFUNCTION????

PLZ IF YOU DONT KNOW DO NOT LEAVE MESSAGE AND TELL NOTHING GOOD!!!

I DONT WANT TO BUY A OBD1 P75 ECU AND A EPROM CHIP FROM EBAY TO REV 8200rpm(sound like a Ferrari)

MUST BE A WAY TO BYPASS THE ONLY CEL CODE LEFT 1259 ????
