I have searched H-T and Google, and didn't find an answer.

Basically, I was swapping hood's with a buddy. He got into an accident so I gave him my cf hood to use for the time being, and I'll just use my OEM. This is where we noticed a HUGE weight difference between our OEM hoods.

Granted, his front end is a 2000 with OEM HID's and mine isn't, but did Honda actually design different hoods? Was there a difference perhaps with the Type-R vs. SiR-G?

 

Type R and Si-R hoods are identical..and they are both very heavy

If one is heavier than the other, there is a chance there is a **** ton of bondo on the heavier one. These hoods come in really rough shape sometimes and during paint the shop will slather it with bondo to make it look right, in the process putting a few extra lbs on your hood.
