Pretty sure that the OBD-0 distributors don't like to be revved past 8000rpms (bad things happen). This was not an issue for OBD-I distribs.

On my D16a6 I set the limiter to 7800rpms. Dyno charts showed it making power until about 7400rpms. The extra 400rpms is so that I didn't have to shift if I'm in between gears and a corner was coming up.

Rev limiter is set to 8600, it never sees that far. Usually shift at about 7500.

Friend of mine had a D15B/P28 combo and hit fuel cut (~7400) a lot. Ran like a champ, probably still does but the car was flipped.

d series can only handle about 7200

add arp rod bolts and you'll be able to rev alot higher then that.

if the cam is stock and valvetrain components are stock their is no reason to rev it beyond the stock redline.

think ill just leave it at 7k for now, going to be doing a good vitara build and use bisimoto valve train this winter. for you boosted guys looking at this, what kind of boost are you running/what can d's take? thinking about going to 10, or 12. if it was close to tax time id just got ahead and up it now, but dont really wana blow it up yet haha.
