Front Speakers not working and more NEED HELP PLEASE!
Okay, when I use my stereo my front speakers don't work. It started to be just the drivers side speaker but then shortly after the passenger side quit too. The speaker are fine as I hooked them up to the back and they work perfectly there. Another Symptom I'm having is that the "key in ignigiton" alarm goes off everytime the drivers side door is open and the car isn't powered up. The headlights on alarm doesnt work either. These are all fairly new issues that appeared ,and I'm looking for any help I can get. I have searched google and founf little to nothing useful. I would really like to not be afraid to use my stereo because of the possibility of an electrical fire. THANKS!
What kind of car are we talking about? a big thing i have run into in my years of installation experience is corrosion in the wiring going through the door boots or the harnesses that connect the wiring from the door into the car. accords and some other honda's and acura's actually have the factory alarm module in the drivers side door. It makes it a pain in the ars when your doing a remote start or security system. If your speakers are working in the back hat sounds like there is definitely a cut or short somewhere in the line coming out of the boot. i would start there and work your way towards the deck. worst case scenario run your own power wire from the deck through the boot into the door, usually not hard at all unless there is a molex harness in the boot. the fact that the "key in" happens when door opens tells me there is most likely a wire that may be shorting out or hacked up a little bit and might need to be re done.
Need way more info...
MM&Y of car?
Make and model of HU?
Make and model of speakers?
As asked, if aftermarket HU/speakers did you install it yourself or was it done at a shop?
The warning chime issue may be the ICU itself, for the "key still in ign. warning chime" if it is going off when key is not in the ign, then the problem may be the key sense switch in the ign. tumbler housing, or again it may just be the ICU. 94
