Default b18b1 help

Just bought a b18b1, the head says pr4-1, from what I have found on the web it is a b18a1 head? is this correct?

Secondly the guy said the engine was from a 96 ls, I've found several topics on how to tell what year the block is from but I am still having a hard time determining what obd the block is.

Check by the crank pulley, if there is a sensor there then its obd2. Dont always work all the time but if they havent messed with it then the CKF sensor should be there for obd2 motors.

I don't see a sensor there so I guess it obd1. And is that right, that it has a b18a1 head on it?

I doubt you can tell obd by the stamp but it says B18b1 2323041

I am trying to put it in an ek so will this thing pass emmissions as long as I get correct wiring harness/ecu/dizzy?

I think I'll need an alternator as well if it is obd1, can I use the obd2 alt from my lx?

It doenst matter which alternator you use as long as its the right one for your harness. Im running an obd1 block with obd2 head and everything else obd2.

Okay thanks that should save me a few bucks, I've been researching and since I have a b18b1 bottom and a b18a1 head...am I right to assume this is from a Da integra?

If I swapped heads to obd2 it wouldn't make the swap any easier would it?

I might just try and buy a eg shell to make it easier, I don't mind the wiring, but having to scrounge for parts was something I wasn't planning on.
