Cat backward compatibility 96-00 onto 92-95

Icon2 Cat backward compatibility 96-00 onto 92-95

My 1992 VX has the cat mounted on the exhaust manifold. Do the catalytic converters from the 96-00 d16y7 with the cat on the manifold bolt up directly to my D15z1?

There are new manifold mount cats for 96-00 Civics for cheap on eBay and they don't list any for the 92-95.

(Yes, I realize I'd have to plug the second o2 sensor hole.)

I read three pages of search and this question is not asked or specifically addressed that I could find.

All d series sohc exhaust manifolds are interchangeable in terms of bolting up. You'll just need to plug up one of the O2 bung hole for the secondary O2 sensor that the Y7's have.

Default CARB approved for CA sale vs 49 state cat?

Thanks for the reply, that's exactly what I figured.

The remaining question is if there is any difference between 49 state cat vs the approved for CARB approved for sale in California versions.

Seems like the CARB cert means something according to the Import Tuner article:
