Default How to choose a platform for a swap??

Buliding a sleeper/track car.

Let say there are two candidates for a full Engine/Tranny/Brake/Suspension swap.

One is a 93 EG with 70,000mi and the other is a 96+ EJ/EK with 130,000mi

What matters the most to the chasis? How old it is or how many miles it has?

Would it matter if the car comes in manual or automatic?

I've been to ebay, auto trader.com, autobytel for quite some times now. I always wanted a 96+ White EJ/EK Hatchback. Where else can I find more of these hatchbacks?

I think the EG is lighter and you wont have to deal with OBD conversion BS when/if you swap.

and it has less miles wich is always a plus.

It was just an example. I do not have those two candidates in real life. Just want to know what matters the most? More miles? more years?

oh lol
well its almost imposible to say
there are too many variables
like where are both cars from? if you have a 10 year old car thats from the east coast you may have rust
but if you have a 5 year old car that was used to rock climb (exaggeration, duh) its gonna need EVERY suspension bushing replaced and who knows whats rattled loose?

Your best bet would be to find a car that is cheaper because of high miles or a blown engine but with a good chassis and good suspension components.

eg =
ek =

they are lighter. they are obd1. they look better. better for brake swaps (easier to find integra **** that 99/00 si). easier for motor swap (no need to mess around with different mounts or anything).

What if this is for a full B18C5 swap? Would EK be better off?

Any source for buying Civic shells?
