i was just curious...if i beat my friend's car by 1 second on the track...how many car lenghts should that equal out to? the reason why i ask this is because we are racing by time slips. we really didn't get a chance to go head to head on the track. my friend refuses to believe that one second is alot... but i think 1 second should equal 2 car lenghts right? i remember i saw it on a thread..just can't find it anymore. if this is a silly question...just flame me....haha...im just bored....
his car. v6 camry stunna style. Automatic 16.7

A second is a hell of a lot more than 2 cars. I ran against a Cobra that turned a 12.88, I ran a 13.92. He was miles in front of me like 5 cars at least. I always thought it was something like .2 seconds = 1 car. That's just been my experience.
Yeah Doc, mad people are copping feelings on this board, liek this is all real, these are just threads, we are all one big honda family, if dont say otherwise..Ifwe werent, they wouldnt have this website... so everybody needs to cool down, its all in good fun, besides, fast and furious was a good movie cause there was MAD GIRLIES

the .2 to a a car sounds right. When I went head to head w/ my friend J, I was a little more than a car on him and .2 faster. This was on an 1/8 mile track though.
it would obviously change with different times...
a second inbetween the 15.7 and 16.7 is going to be a lot less car lengths than a second between a 12.7 and a 13.7 because of the rate of speed the cars are going....so there is no equation that would really work...well, a simple one anyways.
