it can still throw the code even with the extension for the o2. go to your local autoparts store and get spark plug non foulers. youll drill one through so the o2 can be threaded in and leave the other one undrilled and then attach that one as well, then thread them into the bung

You have to reset the ECU when you install the test pipe. Just unplug the battery for a bit.
The spark plug non foulers are pretty similar in design to the O2 extension that you'd buy.
The only difference is that the non foulers have a smaller hole in the middle. I wouldn't bother drilling one of them out. Drilling out the non fouler kinda sucks to do.
I would just put a non fouler on the end of your extension. You can also close off the hole in the non fouler even further by just inserting a bolt/screw into the hole and securing it. That will block off the hole pretty much completely.
What year is the car? A lot of the times, the non fouler tricks don't work on 06+ cars.

There's no reason why the extension shouldn't work on the AP1. I think the CEL came on because you didn't reset the ECU.
The secondary O2 might still be sensing within it's parameters, but the disparity between the cat and the test pipe might be confusing the ECU. I doubt you'll have the CEL anymore after resetting the ECU.

yup yup... spark plug defouler with a 1/2" drill bit and your set... very easy to do and works like a charm...
when i installed my 70mm TP i had the same problem. I called invidia and they sent me out an extender for the bung. Working fine ever since.
