does pulse make a big diffrence to how your welds look or how strong they are

 

pulse has its purpose when used on very thin material to limit heat input. It can actually help get proper penetration without burn through in situations like that. People often misuse it in order to get the stack of dimes look, rather than manually operate the pedal. Not saying its always bad just that most of the time its not needed.

 

pulse is used on thin metal, but you don't work the pedal to get the stack of dimes. you keep your heat where it needs to be & dip, dip, dip.

 

i tryed it for the first time last night, seamed to put me off every time it pulsed, then when i turned the pulse up it made me rush the weld lol probly just me .

 

I used to do the same, but what I do now is keep a constant beat in my head and play it over and over and as soon as I hit every other note I dip, which is also at the point where my foot goes down on the pedal.

Or follow the up and down sound of the machine as it's pulsing and dip as it's about to come up.
