BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 review or opinions
I'm looking for a set of street tires with good grip for launching. Longevity is second on the priority list. Are there any other tires out there better than the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 for a 16" rim on integra with about 2" drop. I was told only 205/40/16 would clear, but will 205/45/16 clear the fenders?
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 205/45-16
Toyo Proxes R1R 205/45-16
Kumho Ecsta XS 215/45-16
They won't last as long, maybe 15-20K miles. If you want a longer-lasting tire and you're willing to accept less grip than the previous group, I recommend the Yokohama S.drive in 205/45-16 rather than the KDW; both will last around 25-40K miles with similar performance, but the S.drive is usually less expensive.
It depends on the offset of your wheels, and you'll have to try it to make sure. But with the right offset, 205/45-16 will usually clear. 215/45-16 is a bit more iffy.
Absolutely! You'll get MUCH better grip with one of these:
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 205/45-16
Toyo Proxes R1R 205/45-16
Kumho Ecsta XS 215/45-16

Thanks for the recommendations. Any experience with the Continental Extreme Contact DW? According to the tirerack reviews, it outperforms the BF Goodrich KDW's also.
Yes; it's very good, on dry pavement as well as in rain.
The Tire Rack does not test tires in different categories against each other, so there are no tests comparing those two tires with each other. However, they tested the ExtremeContact DW against three other excellent maximum performance summer tires, and the overall ratings of the four were virtually identical, as you can see here.
BTW, the reviews from users are meaningless because there is inherent bias in who buys a given tire.

I've had kdw on my wrx and loved them nice and sticky while doing a lil scca. Can't say much for other tires since I've gotten more into the less spirited type of driving.

The KDW uses rubber technology that is a little older than the competition, but is the only option in the 205/40R16 size we have. You'll have alot more options at 205/45R16 if you can make them fit (a 2" drop may make them rub at fully spring compression).
any large diffrence between 225/50/16 and 205/45/16 in traction? i wanted a 225/45/16 in the potenza RE11 but cant find this tire in that size
