dont do anything ive got a 96 dx. ive done an engine swap 2 yrs ago and still cant get it to pass emissions. part of the reason is because the swap i chose. if you wanna go DOHC VTEC
your in for a nightmare because the dx doesnt have an EVAP system. because most b series engines/ecu's look for the evap system you have to change the fuel tank and add the evap lines from the front to the back. basically what im tryin to say is the car is a base model with minimal features that higher trim models have making modding the car and passing emissions harder

wtf?^ swap tanks? never ever heard of that, it doesnt matter if it's a dx. it should atleast have a d16y8 in it so you can use the harness on a obd1 dohc vtec engine and swap the injectors and if you want (it's easier) swap the dizzy and alternator and run a conversion jumper harness to run a obd1 ecu and your done, ran a gsr swap in a dx coupe that way
it won't let me post attachments yet. umm it's just a stock d16y7 with a cold air intake. the cold air intake was already on the car when i got it, all i did was extend it.

yep same engine i had you will get bored with it quick. it doesnt have the evap system but really the evap system is on the car the only thing it has to do with the engine is a sensor and some lines on the fuel rail. the rest is lines to the back and some sensors built on or into the tank. i have researched this as ive had my swap for 2 yrs and still havent passed emissions
their are no sensors in the tank, the only thing in the tank is the fuel pump, i don't care if you've had your swap for 2 years ive done more swap within that time frame to know you don't have to do all of that crap
no real need for sway bars till he decides if really will build it. i have cheap turbo parts easiest thing to do for power with that motor you will come to find out.
right now i'm just trying to learn everything i can. i wanna get familiar with everything and then i'll decide what to do, i'm thinking like a mini me conversion or save up for a b series.

alright. i'm not really trying to make the d fast, i just wanna get experience with it. i don't want to get a b and not know what i'm doing haah.
ya i got the y7 too... i would just work on suspension first bro then if you need it painted do that, then do some engine work.. the possibly get a lip kit. those are my plans.
