Default Integra shocks that were on a Civic without washers won't fit Integra anymore

So I have some Integra spec coilovers that came off a 96-00 Civic. Well, guess that person didn't use washers on the Civic, so the rear lower shock that bolts to the lca is bent/pinched in, so its too thin to fit over my Integra LCA now. I tried using a hammer and a panel tool to bend it back straight, but it's pretty tough.

Any recommendations?

i figured itd be something like that. its too tough to bend at normal temperatures right?

ive never used a torch before, how do i know how hot to heat it up? just want to make sure i dont melt the thing off.

Will your Honda scissor jack fit in there?

Yea, we couldn't find anything to bend it, or try putting one end in the clamp and try to use the shock as leverage?

What I did was heat it up slowly while trying to move it at the same time. We used map gas, but if you have used a torch before I wouldnt reccomend it.

Try bending it wil the clamp first though

Whatever you do MAKE SURE you either wrap the shock bodies in cold wet rags or put ice packs on them to make sure you doing boil the gases/oil inside the shock. THey'll be ruined forever.

he's right.

I forgot to mention we did cover the shock with damp rags.

That should do the job.

I honestly cant tell how long, just carefully heat it up and try bending it while heating.
Thats what we did.
