Default A1 Transmision Grind

Hey guys. I have a 1991 Acura Integra with a B20B and a stock A1 transaxle. I'm having a grinding problem. Gears 2-4 grind when they feel like it and 5th seems like it grinds all the time now. I had a guy put in Carbon Synchrotech-Transmissions synchros in it but that is all he replaced when he had it apart. It still grinds. I tightened up the shift linkage so the shifter feels tighter when it's in gear and it seems like it doesn't grind as much as it used to but still grinds when it feels like it. The grind isn't like a real bad grind it's just more of a feel than something I can hear. Any ideas?

There is noticible damage to the synchro sleeves' and gears' dog engagement teeth then. New synchros don't cover up mechanical/physical wear on other parts. Your guy should have let you know about other wear; not just slapped synchros in.

+1 Pull it out and send it to someone who deals with transmissions on a daily basis.

Thanks man. Yea I was thinking there was something else wrong in the synchro area. Are they pretty hard to replace? I've never taken a transaxle apart before.

It would be best to have someone experienced do it.
