help me uninstall a viper 5900 alarm system
i bought an automatic 95 ej1. it came with a viper alarm system. either 5500 or 5900 as those are the only systems this remote is compatible with but i'm pretty sure it's a 5900. either way the alarm install is a hack job and i'm not a fan of the remote start. i'm about to start taking the interior apart to get to whatever sensors are in there, but once i trace the wires back to wherever they go i'm completely lost. i need some help completely uninstalling this system. does anyone have any experience or an install guide that i can just work backwards with? any help is appreciated. thanks.
The last time i removed an alarm, i just followed the wires were they went and fixxed what ever was cut/spilced.
It was a some what new clifford, but it was very simple to do. And i hate alarms.
Just go one by one and double check everything before you re connect the battery.
What are you lost on??

That car has no immobilizer, so it should be straight forward. Just like 98civicdx said, just trace the wires from the brain of the alarm to wherever they connect. remove the wire, and insulate the exposed copper. The 5900 had a satellite relay pack with a ribbon cable and prob about 8 thicker gauged wires, trace that also, and remove connected wires. there will be a purple and a green wire coming off the satellite relay pack, trace those wires particularly, bc they interrupt your starter wire. remove these two wires and reconnect your starter wire. Any wire that is red, make sure not to let the exposed wire touch any metal in your car, those wires will have positive voltage, even with your key off. You will have a siren under the hood with red and black wires going to it, possibly a violet/white wire running under the hood for your tach sensor, and possibly a grey wire going to a hoodpin under your hood. There should be an antenna, probably mounted to the windshield with double sided adheisive tape, four wires in a black jacket go to it. There will be a blue and red wire run together that just go to an LED. There may be a grey and black wire run together, just going to a valet switch...
It would prob be a good idea to disconnect your negative battery terminal, that way you don't ground anything out.
