losing oil
i got a 90 ls with 200k on it its a auto i just put a new head gasket on new cat and i got it smogged it passed i have been driving it for about a week almost and i checked the oil on it today and it below the mark on the dip stick i checked for leaks i dont really see nothin theres a little white smoke when i start the car but after that it stops
check the oil pan gasket, and the valve cover gasket if your certain it isn't burning it. I have had a few honda's that were just slowly leaking a little out of the oil pan gasket where it meets the transmission!
its got 200k it probually needs a valve job because ur burning oil not just loosing it im suprised u passed smog burning smoke that shouldve been an automatic failure u should tune it up with adjusting the valves and then see if u still burn smoke if u are stll do a cylinder leak test
when i got the car it had a bad headgasket on it didnt know it at the time good surprise i guess when you buy a car =p so i got a new/used head and gasket and slapped those on the car it does sound really loud like a lawn mower and my oil is black too?
Really black oil immediately after an oil change is most likely bad rings. The carbon from combustion is leaking past the rings and contaminating your oil. Or another possibility, valve guides are very worn and carbon is contaminating your oil through the guides. Either way, either will need a rebuild to remedy the problem.

with the engine running, unscrew the oil cap. is there pressure there?
you can do a leakdown to try and determine the cause of consumption
i'd probably run a compression test first though, just to see where you're at there and give you an idea of which cylinder(s) to pay attention to
