I've had this sedan for about 5 months and after looking around on here I want to start a build thread. I'm almost done, just gotta finish my engine. I wanted to drop in a b18 or turbo, but no job=no money. Let me know what you think.

When I first got the car. Gone head gasket at 96,000 original miles. Maroon interior and out. Automatic transmission, standard steelies and hubcaps.

The previous owner didn't find it necessary to change the oil so there's chrystalized oil in the head and the rocker arms and cam shaft are totally gouged to hell and back.

took apart the head and threw the springs and valves in the cleaner CAREFUL TO MARK THEM BY NUMBER. ALWAYS make sure your valves and springs go together with the same ones they came off with and go back in the same spot on the head. So I labeled all of them on a board by number and wire-tied labels around them before throwing them in the parts cleaner.

Rocker arms and camshaft run about $400 so I found a hatch at the junkyard and got the pieces from it. $40. Then I used my 89 Civic service manual to take apart all of the rockers and put them back in the right spot. Then sent the head out to get surfaced. Got it back as well as new gaskets and put it back on. First time i found out you had to torque the head bolts on to a certain pressure and also theres a specific pattern that you tighten them. Thank God for the service manual!!

dude that stinks, I'd be pissed. Mine doesn't have cruise and its an auto. but I parted out a 91 maroon sedan so I took the manual trans and parts and the cruise. have the manual conversion almost done. I dont know about cruise.

if i drop in a b18, or if it's needed if I turbo. I know where thers a wrecked Integra and I asked the guy that owns the junkyard what he wants for the engine (b18) he goes, "oh, $250" I almost **** myself with excitement. He'd prolly give me the whole car for like $500 so that means trailing arms, wiring harness, and any other parts I could sell. But like I said no job and no money. I dont wanna lose my gas mileage and I know I wont be using premium gas so I'll only gains like 30 horsepower? correct me if Im wrong. So this makes turbo look like a better choice

i already converted to manual i just have to finish the new engine and drop it in. Someone on here did a mini me and spent $500 just for that 20 horsepower gain. For a little over that i could have a full 140 horsepower b18 with endless possibilities

A b18b1 is about 140hp. Your d15b2 is 92. mini me would be a good choice if you're like me and cant afford a B-swap. it will still feel like a totally different car.

thing is i dont have any money. zero, zilch, nada. When i finally get a job i might just go turbo to save the gas money, mini me is an option tho
Turbo will still use more gas. More air=more gas. I have an integra GSR and I get 30MPG. my buddy has the same car but turbo'd and he gets 22-25 depending on how he drives.
Vtec heads can be had for $100-150 pretty regularly. hell, even just getting another intake manifold and doing an MPFI swap will give you a good bit more power.

Picked up a wing at the junkyard and bought an exhaust tip. Wing took hours to put on.
