What head gasket is needed for jdm d15b non-VTEC engine???
The headgaskets are all the same basically. You can use one for a D15b7 if you want. But I really dont understand how you have a 93 JDM OB1 D15b non VTEC. That motor didn't even come in a civic. And I also don't see anything about the motor coming in any car in 93 either. As basically all civics came with VTEC in Japan.
there is at least 4 different versions of a jdm d15b one is a non-vtec its just the same as a d15b7, one is a vtec-e same as a d15z1, one is the single stage vtec which is the most popular, and one is the 3 stage vtec. all have d15b stamped on the block. there is no such thing as a 2layer y8 gasket nor did honda ever make a 2layer gasket for a d period the 2layer is a modded 3layer that you remove the middle layer from. the op's engine is esentialy a usdm d15b7 with the **** composite gasket you can replace with a b7 gasket but not recommended, i would use a 3layer mls gasket for a d16y8 they are like 30 bucks from honda and are much better then a composite gasket, but the surface has to be ultra clean and flat to use this type of gasket

honda has a 3layer and a 5layer. and the felpro is 3layer cause thats what i use on my engines. as i said the 2layer is not bought its made out of a 3layer by drilling out the rivets and removing the middle layer
D-series heads are all interchangeable, therefore you can use any head gasket you want. As previously stated the ones for d15b7 are composite, which are garbage. I would just go with the y8, thats what I used on my d15b8.
ah ok. I never saw the 3rd layer on my fel-pro then. I always use Y8 head gaskets.
top layer and bottom layer are the black rubber coated ones and in the middle is a thin stainless one i think its like .005 thick

i threw on a y8 head gasket drilled out the rivets and threw some copper spray on all layers front and back. thanks guys
yeah there metal but there coated with like a super thin layer of rubber to seal. and your blue one is not a factory replacement from felpro yours is a performance one
oh really? Idk I never asked for a performance one. Either way idc because it holds good on my built and boosted DD setup. First one lasted 15k miles of DD boost, then blew after I got retuned on 19-22PSI. Now this one has been fine since then.
