Tip #1: Don't do it. You've got enough equipment to buy 'inexpensive' automotive paint. You will be happier doing that.

$50 paint job is for people with no gun, compressor, and a car that would look better 'one solid color' vs. painted really well.

Look in the Paint/auto body for the bajillion $50 paint job threads.

i agree.

it's a shame that so many people are interested in ruining cars with house paint.

i don't know. rustoleum or whatever. anything that's 'general' paint is house paint to me. i don't mean actual exterior latex house paint. lol.

basically, don't do it. if you're considering spending $50 for a ghetto rustoleum job, forget about it and save money for a quick maaco job.

I'm not saying the $50 paint jobs don't look good and for some cars it's the best thing to do. But if you ever want to repaint it with real automotive paint all the rustoleum has to be sanded off or you will have problems.

if you have a decent gun you can buy a gallon of single stage commercial grade PPG paint with hardner for around $50 the midx is 4part paint to 1 part hardner. It will turn out pretty good i have used on a car and a motorcycle and have had success.
