Default Do I have to resurface the block and head everytime I take apart my motor?

Just wondering if I have to replace the head gasket and resurface the block and head everytime I take apart the two.

no you don't have to do that. if you did that everytime, you'd be left w/nothing after a year.

You should only resurface the head or block when they are crooked.
If a .002" feeler gauge slides under a straight edge then it needs to be resurfaced

You should only resurface the head or block when they are crooked.
If a .002" feeler gauge slides under a straight edge then it needs to be resurfaced
But he should replace the headgasket. They are not reusable.

Yeah EVERYTIME you pull the head off.
