Do I have to resurface the block and head everytime I take apart my motor?
Just wondering if I have to replace the head gasket and resurface the block and head everytime I take apart the two.
no you don't have to do that. if you did that everytime, you'd be left w/nothing after a year.
You should only resurface the head or block when they are crooked.
If a .002" feeler gauge slides under a straight edge then it needs to be resurfaced

But he should replace the headgasket. They are not reusable.
