Default can someone help me on a weird noise from my vtec head!!

hey everyone i have a 00 integra with a ls vtec! the head is a jdm gsr head! it was all taken apart and put back together with everything brand new! it has about 6k miles on it and i started it up the other day with my hood open and i noticed a weird noise coming from the valve cover it sounds like u put a ball bearing into someting that is moving! its not loud loud but loud enough i can hear it! does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Sounds like something is bouncing around? How awful. Have you set the valve clearances? Have you reset the timing properly for your rebuilt (i assume) engine? It may not be relevant in your case but when you build a motor outside of stock parameters (higher comp, etc), the stock timing setting may not work for you. Does the sound get worse or better with engine temperature? Is it especially bad on a cold morning?

the timing was set from a friend that builds motors! is all i can say and noise seems to get a lil louder as it warms up. and i dont feel no loss in power and im not one to beat my car up i barly drive my car fast lol even like shifting like 4k rpms. im just kinda worried about this sound. motor seems to run strong starts right up with no problems since i put it back in the car.

If it stays the same or gets louder as it heats up then it at least isn't cold pinging. If the valves are making noise that gets worse with heat, your valve clearances could be too small.

Take the valve cover of and inspect your valve train! It's very easy to do! I sure the hell wouldn't be driving my car around if it sounded like it had a ball bearing shakeing it!
If this is a re-built head something is going on up there,is my guess! Just because its rebuilt doesnt mean it was done right, it could just need a valve adjustment?
pULL THE VALVER COVER AND SEE WHATS GOING ON!
gOOD LUCK AND PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT IT IS!

Does the noise eventually go away?
