Default DA DD/Track Setup Help

Hey guys

I picked up 1991 Integra Rs about 2 months ago now 166kmiles on it completely stock for about $1,500 Runs drives awsome exterior, interior for being 19 years old. Anyway I want to start autox/HPDE/trackday next season
Suspension
I have reseached alot of suspensions setups and talked to a few others from what I have seen and will be ordering on Friday is Koni yellows/GC Coilover from Weksos $925 shiped Going with the stock spring rates they come with untill I get more feel for how the car handles

Motor
Has b18a1 as you already know being stock and all
From what I read the b18 doesnt like being revd past 8k unless alot of work has been put into it with 166k it would need to be rebuilt if I were going to use it for a track car
So Im thinking about swaping the Hmotors
B16A (SIR-2) 170hp trq113 hydro tranny for 2k avg 35k miles
B18a1 130hp trq121 Cable tranny
I know ppl say that the integra is to heavy for it but I dont see how when the 2000 civic si is Curb weight 2,606 lb (1,182 kg) and
91 Integra Curb Weight, lbs. 2560 so teg is 50lbs lighter

From what I have seen is ppl that have the b16 in there cars love it and the ppl that dont have it talk **** about how stupid it is say no replacement for displacement which yes i understand that But the B16 will make up for were it lacks in trq being able to handle the hard revs from cornering downshifting, heel toe, tranny braking things like that gears are going to be shorter +1 for track use and vtec is always nice to have thats my feeling on the b16 vs b18

LS/V Not really something I even want to deal with right now to much work to get it done right and even then how consistent and reliable is it going to be on the track because Im still using this as my DD. I have done alot of research on google and Hondatech and cant find to much info on people building DA track/autocross cars let alone with a b18 or b16 in them.

So please im posting here because I want ppl with experience in building track cars prefer DA setup the most sorry if my info is incorrect or what not Im willing to learn and take advice tried to break it up as much as I could make it easyer to read Thanks For your time Guys P.S looking to get somewhere around 200whp give or take over time

First!

Leave the motor alone. Seriously. If it runs fine leave it alone. I am sure that the majority of posters here in RR/AX will agree that you should save your money for seat time and consumables. You might think you want 200 whp but you don't. I find just as much enjoyment and challenge in tracking my 70 whp Nissan Micra as I do my 200whp Integra Type R.

^ ya that

get some gd brake pad
like ferodo ds2500 for DD/Autox use
HP + is even cheaper but too noisy on street

get some gd tires. 15" or smaller not much choose for 14" street tires tho (only starspec? )
RE11, RS3, XS, R1R, Starspec for ST (u r in ST or up, since u r gonna put your GC & Koni yellow on)

but if u really want to learn
run it in stock group
put koni yellows on but keep the stock spring
get gd brake pads, get some V710 (DA stock is 14" right?)

U will improve alot faster

yet no replacement for SEAT TIME

First of all you did the right thing when you purchased the koni/GC set-up. I see so many first-timers order expensive, exotic coilovers when really they just need to get a less expensive, proven set-up and drive the car.

As long as the motor is in good shape drive it for a few events and do what Derek said.

I'm partial to the B16. I have a B16 SiRII with a JDM ITR trans and I love it, but my car weighs 2200 lbs (93 EJ - not a DA)
If your engine-trans budget is 2k, buy the B16 long block from H Motors and then find an ITR tranny with the 4.7 fd.

You don't _need_ to change the motor out. 166k is young, just put a new timing belt on it, give it a tune up and call it soup. I flogged a z6 motor well past 250k with no issues. You'll also be able to hang on to some resale value if you stick with parts that would be legal on an ITA car.

That said, if you don't care about any of that and just want to have fun, the b16 isnt' a bad choice. The tighter gearing and higher revs are fun.

Finally, for the love of god, stop typing like your texting someone. Spell the whole damn word so your post doesn't read like a 16yr old high school drop out.
