Default 1996 Accord DX swap

OK guys i'm thinking about doing a Automatic swap to my 96 Auto F22 daily driver. Think is i have to keep it OBD2 and Auto so its a quick and back on the road thing. Trouble is i dont know weather i want a H22A OBD2 or a H23 OBD2 both are in good price range but which is the easiest of the two to swap in and get back on the road?

Thanks,
Armando

That means i have to get a OBDI engine and everything correct? But i wanna stay OBDII whats up?

You can use Hondata/OBD1 ECU in conjunction with an OBD1 (ECU) to OBD2A (Vehicle) conversion harness. There are numerous retailers that sell said harnesses. With the conversion harness you can keep the engine wiring OBD2 and use the OBD1 ECU. However, If your state requires a scan of your ECU for emissions testing it will fail.

Oh ok but i can run a OBDII Prelude ECU right i got in contact with hasport about sending in my accord harness and the Hxx harness in and making it a plug and play harness. Now i'm just wondering about what motor to go with H22A or H23.

Yes you can run Prelude ECU. What motor to go with is your decision.

I heard the H23A VTEC are more complicated as far as wiring goes. The H22A are more easier to do. Reuse your stock harness and lengthen some wires to make it work; this goes to the JDM H23A VTEC too if you do decide to go with one.

Your stock Accord ECU will not run an H22 or H23 very well.

Also a heads up if you run a stock Prelude ECU. Watch out for the immobilizer system that is installed in the 97+ Prelude ignition and it's ECU. Your swap will not run unless you have the complete immobilizer system installed along with the Prelude ECU. I would suggest you specifically look for an 96 OBDII Prelude ECU. The 96 OBDII Prelude ECU does not require the IMMO key or the ignition system.

Well i talk'd to chris over at Hasport. I had a question on the difference's between the OBD I and OBD II H22 and i guess i was somewhat right. Sensor's are different i'm having them do the harness when the time comes for the swap. So i'm going with a OBD I h22 with hasport modified harness and hondata S300 with jumper harness for tuning.

OVER

KILL

If you're downconverting to OBDI from II save yourself the time/money and get a chipped P28 for a fraction of the cost. You will come nowhere near the requirement to justify a S300.

*edit*

They have them at like $400/500, I think I spent *maybe* $50 on a chipped P28.
