I've only had this car for 4 months now and decided to tackle the ABS.
Found out the abs was not working one day when I almost slid into the back of a truck that cut me off in the rain and the front locked up.

ABS light was not coming on, so I took out the cluster and the bulb was missing, great.
took out the low fuel light just for the time being....

Now the light is stuck ON.

manual says do this and do that, I tried most of it and cannot get anywhere.

What is the most likely culprit that is causing the ABS to not work in this situation?
Could the ABS computer be ****ed and instead of fixing it they decided to just pull out the light?

 

the blue is supposed to be disconnected. put in a jumper and get the code from the blinking abs light. code will tell you whats wrong.

I wish the manual was more clear about that.

Anyway, I've got 51 and 53 blinking.... looking up what they mean right now.

Motor Lock and
Motor Stuck ON

It says to check if the "pump motor operates"

how exactly do I check this, put my hand on it? what am I feeling for?

 

no idea what to do after getting the codes. manual will let you know for that.

 

For code 51 It says reset the code and go for a drive, if it comes back, replace the modulator unit (ie: the most major part of the system)

haha.

I guess I know what I've got to save up for. (it's $240 from honda)
