When I am braking at slow speeds (coming to a stoplight) there is a distinct sound coming from the driver front wheel. When I am almost at a complete stop I can feel a slight creak in the break pedal, other wise it just sounds like something rubbing.
I am no expert but I am pretty sure its not the brakes. braking power is good. All bolts are tight, there is no wobbling or anything like that.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yea my front tires where bottoming out in the back of the wheel wells my issue was the front cross member that is under the radiator. Its has traction bars that attach to the lower control arm and a stock setup has bushing in it and if the are warn out or missing your wheel can travel 4+ inch back and forth under accel and decel. Check them.

Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it. I am gonna try to jack the car up tonight after work and check again for play in the steering wheel.
The steering seems responsive to me. It's not sloppy anyway.
I do know the radius rod bushings look bad.

Well its fixed. I started by replacing the caliper, When I was taking it off I saw there was a crack in the back of the brake hose. So I replaced both at the same time.
..... When I was re assembling I saw that one of the rotor screws was missing. So I replaced that as well.
Drives fine now and brakes much better, which is funny because I thought it braked fine before.
I just wish I knew which part caused the problem.

Rotor screws don't do anything they come like that from the factory your wheel actually holds them on but I'm guessing if there was only one then it wasn't held down ever and wasn't flat to the wheel also the dust cover on the bak of the rotor sometimes rubbs on the lower ball joint well mine did but my cars about an inch and a half maybe 2 from the ground
