$20 bucks well spent ... go to your nearest auto parts store and buy a Haynes manual for your car if you intend to do much work on it yourself.

In answer to your question, the AFT change is easy on this car. You'll need basic hand tools, and a long funnel. Check your manual, but I think Accord's of this era can use Dextron fluid, rather than the Honda Z1 fluid?

Buy the manual ... it will show pictures & give good detail.

You cannot change the filter - there is a filter/screen, but it is internal.

There is a drain plug that uses a 3/8" drive to remove. Drain the fluid and then refill with the correct amount - this will not get all of the fluid out, rather just the fluid in the pan. Do this twice (after a short drive) and you will get out about 75-80% of the old fluid. A third time gets the percentage up into the 90% range. I always change hot fluid.

I would use synthetic dextron/mercron III rather than the Honda Z1. The Z1 is full of friction modifiers to cause clutch slippage for smother shifts - the dex/merc III offers firmer shifts for less wear.

This job is no harder than changing oil.
