Default attn: Greddy a/f warning metter owners.

Hello,

I have a Greddy a/f warning metter.
I can only have steady needle and accurate readings in 5º gear.
Also in 4º gear it displays good readings but it seems a little bit rich.
All other gears give me very rich readings, such as 11.1, almost max in the gauge.

I´m tunning my V-AFC in 5º gear and sometimes 4º gear give a good starting point.
Is this normal, the ECU have richer fuel maps in 1,2,3 gear or is it the Greddy/NTK O2 sensor that can´t read it in lower gears ?

Please, post your experiences with the Greddy a/f warning metter .

Thanks in advance.

Sounds more like you want to know the stock ECU fuel maps in comparison to gears... My A/F gauge works fine.. (GReddy), and I usually try to smooth out my fuel curve in 4th gear. You should be doing the same.

Where did you installed your O2 sensor ?

I got mine in the cat converter, right after the stock O2 sensor.
My ITR does not have a 2nd O2 sensor.

I´m trying to tune my V-AFC for 13.2-13.5 a/f
Can i believe on those readings or should i get richer a/f on the gauge.
I know you´ve posted while ago that it was diferente from a wideband for 0.2 on the lean side.

Why are you trying to tune it so close to a lean A/F ratio? 13.0 is as far as I would go... if you even see noticeable results going that far, I'd be impressed.

THAT IS NOT A WIDEBAND O2.

It is a light show just like any other.....

Get the diy one if you you want something even remotely accurate... otherwise it would be better to use a voltmeter in 4th gear.....

The GReddy isn't a *light* show, it has its own sensor and reads. Granted, no arguement its no where near as accurate as a wideband nor should it be used to tune your car to 13:1 a/f... but, its not a light show.

My dad has the greddy a/f in his car. It seems that the 'most correct' readings are in 3rd - 6th...My assumption is that because it is not exactly real time (its about .75 seconds off according to Greddy), that in the lower gears, the RPMS go buy so fast that the readings are mixed and aren't smooth and readable. I could be completely wrong, but it makes sense in my head .

Pretty much. Dunno the time delay, but usually when building a street/race car, you tune the car for its gearing closest to 1.000... 4th in the ITR.

Ok, i´ll try to put get it close to 13.0
BTW, the Greddy a/f seems very nice.
There are no dynos in Portugal with wideband, so this is a great mod.
