I got the 15/16 master cylinder and the brake booster off of a DA and put it in my car. Its alot easier to find then the EX master cylinder used.

I have a m/c booster out of a DA also. The booster is fatter than the EF booster. I decided that I didn't want to hang upside down under the dash so I just bought an EX m/c. I didn't bother with a junkyard part, I just bought one from Autozone. It was around $50, they have them but they may have to order them from their warehouse.

I would rather use a junkyard Honda one the one from Autozone. I put an Autozone lifetime warranty one on my Accord and it leaked brake fluid from the day i put it on there. I spent the extra the next time and got one from Honda.

dude, thats like saying youd rather use a used Trojan condom than a new generic condom.

USED MC should not be installed!

buy a new one from the dealer. geez.

I'm not saying that Autozone is the best option, I'm just saying that it is an easily accessible option. It's a little less than a new OEM part but a much better option than a junkyard part. EXs are hard to find, plus these cars are 20yrs old. I wouldn't expect a 20 yr old part that has been in the junkyard to last very long, especially when it is dependent on o-rings.

Sorry that you've had a bad experience, but I've used a couple with no ill results. This last one I got was a brand new part, not a remanufactured one. It's been OK so far, I did get some leaks where the reservior was clamped, but it looks like the plastic swelled and it's not leaking anymore.

I used to think like that... Then I learned how to check parts for tolerance and wear limits. There are very few new parts I will buy anymore. My a rediator and brake pads Used to buy new everything.
