did a timing belt,new water pump,set timing,put everything back together started it ran didn't run right,rpms were up and down,turned it off,checked timing the belt tensioner slipped,from impoper adjustment,on tensioner,anyway took it all apart fixed that the way it should of been put to gether the first time,checked the marks good Up on cam position,the crank TDC,the oilpump aligned with marks,set the tensioners,looked all good put all back together no spark what happend.checked the distibutor,module came back good,coil pack got power,I have fuel but no spark.

 

Fuses were all good,Ecu fuses were not blown.Need help any suggestions.Could I still have the timing still messed up,I know these are interference engines but I dont want togo back in there if I dont have to ,maybe the distributor happend to go bad in the during the change?

 

if your positive its no spark, i would just start with the plugs and work my way back, again. i know u said the distributor and module and was good.. but i would check again.

if the timing belt is off a notch, it should still start, it will just sound bad.

 

I replaced the distributor about 2 years ago,but was a remanufactured from napa,Im thinking the distributor its gotta be no spark like you said it should still spark,thats what im thinking,the plugs were all full of oil from the bad gasket before.but old pugs and wires.Im thinking this caused the distributor to work to hard and burned it out will change distributor wires,plugs i hope this is it,this is costly purchase.Thank you for the help.And god bless!

put new distributor and new plugs in solved the problem with spark wanted to started then it went then all the sudden click the engine went,sounded like timing or something doesnt want to turn over now anyone got detailed pics what all marks should look like,as in crank cam oil pump,cause hanes aint cutting the mustard.sounded like starter went out dont know,just heard whining in starter,no engine crank over at first when i installed the distributor it was turning over,then I heard wheez,the starter could have gone or timing again like it popped off and head aint turnin with bottom which is the engine?

damn thing put distribuor in new plugs fired then starter went so now can't tell if it will run got to wait to get starter.damn this car was cursed since the first bolt came off.

 

put new starter in runs great, and thanks for the pics that was much better then hanes manual.
