gear oil additives
hi
got tired of hearing grinding and noises form the tranny, my gear guy told me to use liqui moli gear additive and gear oil as it has gear healing capabilities,
basally u have to add 2 tubes of gear additive to 2 liters of gear oil,
after using the oil and additive for one day i couldn't find any thing
different!!
called my gear guy up again and he told that i have drive the car for a week or so to let the additive work
is this true?? and what do u think abt this product.
here are the site with review of the product:

I already told you what you need to do in your other thread. Snake oil remedies is not what your tranny needs if it already isn't beyond needing rebuilt. You put 75/85 gear oil in it and it needs to be drained flushed and refilled with the proper factory recommended MTF. If it still grinds and shifts rough after that,it needs wrench attention.
Your gear guy must not work on Honda's much. Gear oil is way too heavy for Honda tranny's, which have been specifically designed to use 10w oil. And Since you have been grinding your transmission this whole time you should flush out immediately and fill with Honda MTF.
Like Robert O said, oil and additives are only short term remedies. No oil or additive in the world can fix worn out synchros and shaved gear teeth. At best, they can only mask your problems.

the only problem is the Honda MTF we have here in my country is NO good and is cheap quality , can u please tell me the grade i should be using ? so i can find a similar oil
I'm still a fan of GM Syncromesh, been using it on all my boxes for years.
ok so i got my oil changed again as recommended by so many ppl, before i had liqui moli gear oil gl4 only driven 10 km with it,
so i went to honda and they gave me honda MTF , but as a note its different form the ones u have in usa. i took some pictures for u all to see
the gear changes feel smoother but the transmission is WAY nosier, guess back to the old drawing board , innit?
my s2k also need a diff oil change and honda recommended that i use CRV, DPSF II in my Differential??????
didnt buy it coz i taught i reconfirm from u guys, also i read we can use gear oil like GL4 in the diff, if so can i use the liqui moli GL4 in my diff??

That is the correct mtf, it is just different packaging than what we have in North America. Yes for your tranny you can use a 75w gear oil (DPSF II will work, so will most 75w90 gear oils)
How noisy is the transmission? A bit of clunking is normal, but It should not be very loud. If it is then something is wrong internally.

(i kno i had been a big pain),so can i use liqui moli gear oil (GL 5) SAE 75 W-90 in the differential?

my transmission has noise when im standing still and in neutral gear, and my foot is off the clutch pedal , but when i press the clutch padel the noise goes away, the best i can describe it is as a spinning bearing noise .when i drive the car in any gear this noise is constant at decelerating ( grinding spinning bearing) as soon as i put my foot on the clutch pedal the noise goes away....!
its kinda driving insane, all i do when driving is listen to this noise every day trying to figure out what the F is making it!!!!!
honda dont kno what it is....! there is a video similar to my problem (not my car) u can hear a faint noise as the clutch is pressed and released.

ok that noise has nothing to do with ur tranny im almost positive that is ur throw out bearing in ur clutch. btw u might wana get those valves adjusted

The noise seems to be your clutch throwout bearing, or there is something wrong with your.clutch pressure plate.
hope fully my problums will go away

the panda is SOOOO cute....

u might get clutch buzz with that set up might not some pple have it some dont. its no biggy on upon deceleration while in gear in like 2nd and 3rd dont worry about it if u get an exhaust u wont even hear it
i was looking at the Honda part store but cant seem to find the input shaft bearing (which will stop the noise when i lift my foot off the clutch pedal), can any body please tell me which one is it in the diagram ?

and found this to be the input shaft bearing noise which comes due to the shaft spinning when in neutral gear and a bad bearing making grinding noise,
if it was a release bearing the action should be opposite, i.e the noise should only come when i press the clutch in and should go away when i release the clutch.
would some one back me on this?
If it is the case that it is your mainshaft bearing, then you would also have some slight shudder when going in first gear at low rpm. Some some trouble in the other gears as well.
Anyways the mainshaft bearing(bellhousing side) is #17 in this picture, P/N: PFKL1001932 and
mainshaft bearing (shifter side) is #18, P/H: PFKL1002143
Keep in mind you will have to measure thrust clearance and get new shims accordingly.
