Default Force Automatic Transmission into first gear?

I have a 1991 CRX with D15 engine, and 4 speed automatic.

Is there anyway to force the automatic transmission into first gear?

The shifter only goes down to 2. which I assume is second gear.

If I pull the shifter down to 2, it seems to take off in 2nd gear, and not first. It just doesn't feel as torquey as when I put it in Drive and let it shift itself.

I am asking because the car never winds out 1st gear, always drops out of it at 4000-4500 RPM at WOT.

I am trying to test 0-60 times to see if I am anywhere close to stock and want it to wind out 1st.

Thanks

Fixed my own problem by adjusting the transmission cable, shifts at 6,000 RPM everytime.

Throttle Cable Synchronization
On Honda Transmissions with a throttle valve cable “T.V. Cable”, it is important to synchronize the throttle cable and T.V. cable before the final adjustment or “Fine Tuning” is done. Cables that are out of sync can cause a variety of shifting problems because of the imbalance of pump pressure to throttle position.

Synchronize cables by first checking the throttle cable adjustment. Remove all of the slack, but DO NOT let the throttle plate come off of the stop. Then, remove all of the slack from the T.V. cable and adjust until the T.V. arm starts to lift. At this point, you are ready to fine tune the T.V. cable adjustment. Tightening the cable will increase pressure and extend shift points. Loosening the cable will decrease pressure and allow earlier shift points. If the cable is too loose the clutches may slip causing premature transmission failure.

If you tighten it too much you will get all the shift points you want in 1st, 2nd, 3rd but 4th will stop shifting until 50/60 mph. If that happens just start loosening by a few turns and testing again at WOT until 4th starts coming in around 40 mph.

This also made the transmission stop slipping, which was occurring randomly, and the car would go bump bump bump and the transmission would reengage while driving (very annoying)

Now the car shifts smoother, more firm, and no slippage. The gas pedal is also more firm and no longer feels squishy.

Maybe you all can help me, I've been looking all over the web and can't find any help about this Throttle valve cable. I have a 95 4dr dx auto. The engine blew and swapped in a 97/98 jdm d15b, however I'm trying to keep the newer intake manifold. But the TV cable is way to short to reach. And it looks like the 96 and up civics didn't come with the TV cable which would have the same intake manifold. Any help on finding a longer TV cable that would work?
