trying to purchase one but they all say for just type r . does it matter? got a 95 gsr.

 

You need a specific 94-99 GSR application. Those year GSRs had a different length catalytic converter and exhaust manifold than all the other years.

You have 2 choices:
1. Keep your stock header/cat and get a 94-99 GSR specific exhaust OR
2. Swap out catalytic converter, and buy a 94-01 LS/ITR or 00-01 GSR specific exhaust

This will all fit the same. Just depends on what you want to do.
