coolant lines with aem v2
anybody change the coolant lines around and what did you do? was just looking at the instructions and it says to take the line off the TB and the motor. kind of got confused
I don't remember what to do with the coolant line, after you remove it from the TB.
I think that it is removed from the TB because, the engine coolant will warm up the air that flows thru the TB and this is not desirable.

There is a metal, dual tube. One passes air from the head (near the valve cover) to the intake's arm (that goes to the air filter.
The second , of the metal tubes passes anti-freeae coolant from the engine/head area to the TB. This is a good idea, in the Winter, to warm up the car faster.

I had the Injen CAI and here is a link to those installation instructions.http://www.injen.com/galleries/produ...directions.pdf
When finished, you will have completely removed the metal tubes, which are attached to one another.
You will use a rubber/silicone hose that is 13 or 14" long to connect the port on the valve cover to the port on the CIA. This hose only moves air.
You will remove the two hoses that are still connected to the metal tube and use an inline connector. This connects the hoses that move coolant together.
* If your CAI did not come with the inline connector, use 2 pencils and plug the holes while you take the metal tubes to the hardware store, to find the correct size inline connector.
Once the inline connector is installed the 2 metal tubes and go into storage.

this is what mine says
d. Remove the resonator from the cavity
behind the front bumper.
e. CAUTION: Ensure the engine is
completely cool before removing the
coolant hose, or hot coolant will escape
from the cooling system and cause injury
or damage. Be sure to capture any lost
coolant in a clean container.
Disconnect the water bypass hose from the
bottom of the throttle body.
f. Remove the other end of the water bypass
hose from the fitting on the engine. Install the
other end of the 5/16” hose on to this fitting
and secure both ends in place with ¾” hose
clamps.
