B16a1 in 1991 Si hatch needs alternator and alternator belt!!
Hi, I have read many different opinions on what alternator and alternator belt works in the b16a1...I have heard that a 1990 Integra alternator and 2000 SI belt would work...is this right?
Not all b16 parts work with the b16a1. This is because the b16a1 is the jdm type R motor for a 1991 hatch...They did not make it in the states. So I know for sure that the integra belt does not fit my motor ect... just dont want to make a million trips to the parts store...Thanks!
The only b16 type R motor is the b16b. The b16a1 is out of early JDM CRX's and Integra's.
The alternator off the DA would probably work since its around the same year as the other motor.

91 Integra is the alternator you need as for the belt I usually just grab the number stamped off it and have my local parts store cross reference it. If there is no numbers stamped on it then just take it in with you and match it up.
Now the big issue is can you swap it yourself?
Basic steps are;
1. Remove driver side wheel
2. Remove DS axle shaft
3. Remove half shaft
4. Remove lower alternator bolt and wires
5. Remove upper alternator bolt
6. Drop the alternator out the bottom
7. Reinstall in reverse order.......don't forget to top up the tranny fluid if you lost any while removing the half shaft.
